Pocklo’s link previews

Pocklo is a household organizer. When someone saves a link to it, Pocklo’s server may visit that one page to show its title, site and picture in the app. This page says exactly what that visit does. It’s generated from Pocklo’s own code.

What a visit looks like

Pocklo’s server asks for the page once, with this user agent:

PockloLinkPreview/1.0 (+https://www.pocklo.com/link-previews)

It sends no cookies and never a password. It visits only the page itself and the picture the page names for previews (its og:image), never other links on it, and it comes from Pocklo’s servers, never from the person who saved the link.

What it reads

When Pocklo visits

Only when someone shares, bookmarks or pastes one link on its own, or taps Show preview on a link they saved, and once for each household space that saves it. Pocklo never visits sign-in, password reset, verification, invitation or token links, or private shares from Google Docs and Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint or Box.

What Pocklo keeps

The title, the site’s name, one line of description and the small copy of the picture, shown only to the people in the household space where the link was saved, for as long as something there links to the page. Nothing from your page goes to an AI model, and nothing else from it is kept.

Asking Pocklo not to preview your site

Email support@pocklo.com with your site’s domain. Pocklo stops visiting it, its subdomains and any redirect to it included, usually within a day. Links to it then show only the site’s name, with a line saying the site asked not to be previewed.
